A massive online scavenger hunt that united Meta Technologies’ 3000 interns across the globe, giving them a unique shared experience.
THE CHALLENGE \\\
Design a custom virtual game inspired by the company’s values that could be held as the sole team bonding event for the 3000-strong intern cohort, who participated from over 18 different countries.
OUR APPROACH \\\
Inspired by the company’s recent pivot toward virtual reality, we designed and manufactured a tabletop puzzle adventure disguised as a gift package full of Meta swag.
The packages were hand-packed and delivered to every participating intern in anticipation of a synchronized game.
Using our customized web app, players quickly realized there was more to the items in the box than met the eye. Each dazzling component was woven together in an elaborate puzzle that engaged the history of the technology that makes virtual reality possible. Moving through a game that was equal parts informative, challenging, and awe-inspiringly cool, teams of six competed simultaneously in nearly every timezone in a race to solve the Meta puzzle and prove their mettle.
